AceOn continues to push the boundaries of renewable energy innovation with the successful delivery of a 2MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to a UK client for a groundbreaking marine shore power project. This latest achievement marks AceOn’s expansion into the maritime industry, demonstrating its ability to provide high-performance energy storage solutions for diverse applications.

The 2MWh liquid-cooled BESS, integrated into a 20-foot container, is currently undergoing rigorous integration testing at the customer’s site before being deployed to a seaside location. Designed with scalability in mind, this containerised energy storage unit can house up to 5MWh of battery capacity, offering a flexible and future-proof energy solution for maritime and coastal applications.

  • Integrating digital twin technology for intelligent maintenance and lifecycle management.
  • Assessing the economic and environmental impact of electrification, focusing on emissions reduction, improved air quality, and noise reduction in maritime operations.
  • Establishing a scalable and cost-effective charging infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of electric vessels.

By participating in this pioneering project alongside Taurus Engineering Ltd, Newcastle University, the University of Liverpool, and Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, AceOn is actively shaping the future of clean maritime energy. The project aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of its solutions through real-world case studies at key UK ports, such as Newcastle Marina and Grimsby.
